Commerce implementing furloughs for all staff

We will not be available for work on Fridays July 10, 17 and 24

Our Commerce community has shown great resilience and adaptability in the face of change and uncertainty to support families, businesses and communities. Impacts of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic are causing a severe downturn in state revenue collections.

Gov. Jay Inslee announced mandatory furloughs for most state employees – a temporary layoff and reduction in pay – to save state funds. Commerce is implementing these furloughs for all staff. We will not be available for work on Fridays July 10, 17 and 24. More dates will be scheduled in the fall.

This is going to be difficult, but we’re in this together. Commerce remains committed to doing our best and working with you for our communities and our state.
