In Loving Memory James Edward Croone


James Edward Croone November 3, 1942 - February 4, 2021 James Edward Croone passed away on February 4, 2021, in Alabama. James was born on November 3, 1942, in Lawrence County to the late Woodie and Luiaine Croone. He attended school in Courtland, Alabama, and later moved to Seattle, Washington where he continued his education at James A. Garfield High School. James worked as a Welder for many years and later changed careers as an Automotive Upholsterer until his retirement. He was known throughout the community for his extensive car collection and highly detailed, meticulous automotive upholstery work and expertise. He enjoyed being a member of the Old Rides Car Club of Seattle. James was a blessing to his family and to anyone, in need. He always exhibited a positive, upbeat demeanor and he infused kindness and laughter into any situation. His warm smile was welcoming and a hallmark of his character. James loved the Lord and he was an active member of the Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church until he moved back to his hometown of Courtland, Alabama, a few years ago. James was preceded in death by his wife, Garnett Croone.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Theresa Brown Croone Courtland, AL, Katie Mae Mason Courtland, AL, Mattie Hurley Courtland, AL, Gerlene Johnson Chattanooga, TN, James Croone Sr. (Bobbie Lynn), Angela Croone, Ryan Croone (Rose), Jaycee Croone-Schultes (Debra), Michael Robinson, Kathy Mitchell (Willie), Zakiyan Redfeather (Lisa), Skylar Woodruff (Ashley) and host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother-in-law, sister- in-laws, nephews, nieces, cousins, special friends, and others.

We love and will miss James greatly. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at 10 am – 6 pm (Central Time) at the Jackson Memory Funeral Home in Town Creek, Alabama. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2021, at 1 pm (Central Time) at the Jackson Memory Funeral Home Chapel. Virtual streaming will available thru the funeral home’s Facebook Page.
