Maritime High School is open to all students in Washington state Open enrollment closes on Jan 31

Maritime High School, a public school in the Highline School District, is currently accepting enrollment applications for incoming 9th and 10th graders for the 2022-23 school year. The school provides hands-on, project-based learning anchored in Maritime studies. While located within the Highline School District boundaries, students do not need to live within district boundaries. Maritime High School is open to all students in Washington state. Open enrollment closes on January 31, 2022.

Students at Maritime High School combine core academic disciplines such as reading, writing, math, social studies, and science with project-based learning opportunities – including weekly outings on the schools’ vessel, Admiral Jack, and other community maritime learning activities. Students also receive mentorship and internship opportunities in the maritime sector, learning skills such as vessel operations, marine engineering, and environmental law.

“Maritime High School is a wonderful opportunity for students with maritime interests to receive a focused, hands-on education in small classes,” says Tremain Holloway, Principal of Maritime High School. “Students will graduate Maritime High School able to solve real-world problems – opening doors to careers in the Maritime industry or to furthering their education at a college or university.”
