Give Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll some credit. I say some credit because after Sundays 30-23 win over the San Francisco 49ers the question that comes to mind for the Seahawks head coach is what took you so long. See on Sunday the Seahawks through caution to the win and went for it . A specials teams fake punt saw Travis Homer ramble 73 yards for a touchdown that caught the 49ers sleeping and sent the 12’s into absolute bedlam. You already know the hugs and high fives where flowing early and often in Sunday. In addition to the fake punt the Seahawks converted another 4th down attempt. On defense defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr. unleashed the dogs if you will. Linebackers Bobby Wagner , Jordyn Brooks and defensive lineman Carlos Dunlap blitzed early and yes often. Credit Dunlap for an outstanding performance. Sacking quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo in the endzone for a safety and batting the ball down on fourth and three from the Seahawks three-yard line to end the game.

Sunday win was pretty much an early holiday gift to the 12’s . A Russell Wilson to Tyler Lockett touchdown pass gave the Seahawks a 30-23 lead.

The game looked to be done and dusted when the defense gave the ball back to the offense who drove the ball to the San Fran two-yard line with 4:03 left in the game. Instead of joy and exhilaration the 12’s could not believe their eyes when tight end Gerald Everett fumbled the ball on the next offensive play giving the 49ers the ball. Yup doom, despair and excessive misery filled Lumen field.

That all changed when the Seahawks defense made the stance of the year , stopping the 49ers four times from inside the four-yard line to snap a three-game losing streak.

Give credit to the Seahawks defense and head coach Pete Carroll for going for broke the whole game. So as previously mentioned , the question to Carroll is what took you so long coach?
