SOUNDERS CONTINUE WINNING WAYS

The Seattle Sounders lost two important players in last Wednesday's midweek contest in which they won 1-0 had another contest four days later against their bitter Western Conference rivals in LAFC . And yes the Sounders won that game 2-0. It’s one thing to win but to continue to pile up the “W” but when you do after losing one of the top goalkeepers in the league in Stefan Frei and a valuable midfield defender in Jordy Delem that is quite an accomplishment. The Sounders have played six games in this young MLS season and have five and tied one. The Sounders have collected 16 points from a possible 19 points. In MLS you get three points for a win and one point for a tie. And the Sounders are doing all of this with captain Nicola Lodiero having played just 24 minutes in six games. How are they accomplishing such a feat you ask.

Well in a word: Coaching. Head coach Brian Schmetzer implemented a new formation before the season started leading to a lot of speculation and doubt about how good the Sounders would be. Well, credit local boy Schmetzer. Did you know he played for Nathan High School? Well, he did before an illustrious Professional soccer-playing career. And as for his coaching career two MLS Championships and three MLS Finals appearances? As they say let the record speak for itself. And after six games and an undefeated record. The Sounders recording is speaking for itself as they claim the best league in Major League Soccer.
