Bad Day At The Office

There is really no other way to say than what it is. The Seattle Seahawks had one of them days last Sunday when they came out on the losing end of a disappointing 33-30 l overtime loss to the Tennessee Titans. The Seahawks mettle was tested and they did not make the grade. After a tough first quarter in which both teams managed a field goal the Seahawks looked like they were on their way to an afternoon of cheer and merriment with their fans whom they had not seen for over 360 days. After scoring three touchdown in the second quarter the Hawks headed into the halftime break with a comfortable 24-9 lead. High fives, hugs, and generous acts of buying a round or a plate were abound. Unfortunately for the 68, 585 fans in attendance the feel good vibe turned to utter despair . Disastrous decision making and lack of self-control saw the Seahawks manage just one touchdown the rest of second half and overtime period. The Seahawks were flagged for 10 penalties that gave the Titans 100 extra yards. After holding Titan running back Derrick Henry to just 35 yards the Hawks forgot their assignments on defense and were ran over by the 6’3 247 Henry who left a sea of Seahawks defenders chasing shadows pretty much every time he touched the ball. When the dust settled Henry finished the game with 182 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll had nothing but praise when asked about Henry’s performance, .

“ They did a really nice job. He did a really good job. The game kind of went in their favor. As it was close, they just kept running it. He ran the ball 35 times, or something like that. That’s a lot of carries for the guy. Everything is really clear on the film. We’ll look at it. Playing the running game is always about spacing, and we needed to do a little bit better job there.”

As for the reunion party in the stands? Well as we all know all it takes to ruin a good party is a few rude guests. On Sunday the Titans pulled the ultimate rude guest okie dokie on the Seahawks. Play nice at the beginning of the party, find out where the good liquor is and drink it all up ,make a mess and overstay your welcome. On Sunday the Titans definitely overstayed their welcome as far as Seahawk fans were concerned. Good riddance was chanted more than once by the mortified fans. Next week the Seahawks travel to Minnesota and get their turn at being rude guests.
