THIS IS A SENIORS CALL TO ACTION:

1. The second COVID-19 economic relief package under the CARES Act has been stalled in Congress since August because the package and relief proposed by the two branches of Congress, the House of Representatives and the Senate are miles apart. The Senate package is much smaller. But now that its clear that Joe Biden won the election, there is a strong possibility Congress can reach an agreement by the end of the year. Even if the individual checks are for less in this second relief package, if you received a check the first time you should receive a check from the second Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, CARES Act. 2. Washington Seniors played a major part in flipping the State of Arizona from Republican to Democrat. In analyzing this historic event, several important facts have come to light. Surprisingly, Washington is one of the top three states of origin for incoming Arizona residents. While Arizona has long been considered a good retirement state, the fact that Boeing maintains a large presence in Arizona has been an additional draw. We have gradually changed the Arizona political landscape by the influx of retiring Washington democrats. 3. GEORGIA ON MY MIND. WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE CHANCE TO BALANCE THE SENATE. When a president can count on both the Senate and House of Representatives to work with him/her we as a country move forward, we build the economy, we lower the national debt and we take care of our citizens. So Seniors, when was the last time you recall Washington D.C. running smoothly? Remember how hard it was for President Obama to get legislation passed? Today Republicans hold the Senate majority by just two votes. So we need to two more seats. By Georgia law, a Senate race must be won by receiving a 50% majority. In November two Senate races failed to receive the required fifty percent. So, on January 5, Georgia will hold a runoff election for two Senate seats. Should Democrats win both races, the United States Senate will be balanced. Then if there is a Senate tie vote, Kamala Harris, as Vice- President can cast the tiebreaker vote. Republicans are pouring money into the Georgia Senate runoffs. Trump has openly accused the Georgia Governor of fraud. So Seniors, it's time to get to work. We need to support both of the Democrat candidates. The Reverend Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff, both of whom are running against Republican incumbents. Rally your houses of worship, book clubs, pals and teammates to work toward the election of Reverend Warnock at https://warnockforgeorgia.com and Jon Ossoff at https://electjon.com. We can do this.
