Beverly Elaine Sims, age 70, passed away July 24, 2020, at home in the Central District neighborhood of Seattle, WA. She is survived by her children, Seth Scott, Eula Scott Bynoe, and her grandson Livingston Tyree Scott Bynoe. Beverly joins her late husband Tyree E. Scott, who passed in 2003.
Born and raised in Seattle, Beverly was a lifelong activist and advocate for social justice both locally and internationally. She dedicated her life to helping others and informed an entire generation of activists and community leaders. Beverly was a pillar in her family, passing on her life’s work to her children, and sharing her generosity with all. She held Seattle deeply in her heart, those closest to her describe her as highly intelligent, kind, outspoken and a great storyteller.
