In Loving Memory of Elijah Mason


"Eli"1949 - 2020 Elijah Mason departed this life on Thursday July 23, 2020. He was born in 1949, Clarksdale Mississippi to Robert and Edna Mason. Elijah was a joyful child and always explored the world with his 8 older brothers, who taught him many skills. Eli had 14 Brothers and Sisters, a huge loving family. In High School Eli was a star basketball player on the East Prairie Missouri team and he was a hardworking farmer in Pinhook Missouri. Eli accepted The Lord at an early age and loved The Lord.


Eli served in the National Guard and moved to Chicago then to Seattle in the early 70s and made many friends where ever he went. He was a resourceful man and had many talents, Eli worked for the Rail Roads and The Boeing Company for many years, he then started his own Kiawa Trucking Company with his brothers JD Madon and Aaron Mason. Eli loved managing his own trucking company and he worked so hard, he would have to be told to go home. He was The Vice President of The Black Truckers Assoc and served proudly with such a magnificent group that he highly revered.


Eli mentored many young men in trucking, auto repair, construction and how to be a jack of all trades, he gave back!!! KIAWA TRUCKING worked projects from I90 Bridge, Sound Transit, the Viaduct and many others.


Elijah had 2 sons, Jordan Mason of Vancouver BC and Joe Lee Jones, who preceded him in death, and 4 grandkids. He leaves to mourn his 3 Sisters Martha, Mary Ann and Edna;

Brothers Leo, Dave, Sam, Jerry and Aaron and a host of nieces, nephews and many friends and neighbors.The Mason Family would like to honor Eli's ex Fiance Gigi Finister for her constant love and devotion. Eli's motto was "people and families working together to help each other succeed" and his legacy lives on in the many young people who he taught the trucking and construction business; Eric Mason, Elton Mason, Cordelle Mason Green, Greg Mason, Lance Mason Smith and many others...
