In Loving Memory Of Gregory Allen Taylor

Gregory Allen Taylor, Jr. was born on July 17, 1979 in Seattle, Washington to Glenda Cummins and Gregory Allen Taylor I. He attended Rainier View Elementary school, Washington Middle School and Rainier Beach High School, receiving his GED from Seattle Vocational Institute (formerly “SOIC”). Gregory loved his family, and would do anything to help them. As cousins go, they would occasionally squabble, but in the end, he always had their backs. He had a great relationship with his uncles and aunts, and would call and visit with them regularly to check up on them. He was affectionately called “Gotham” and “Mysterious” by his cousins.

Greg’s hobbies and interests included: Poetry, Motorcycles, Music and Classic Cars. He attended and graduated from Renton Vocational Technical College as a Sheet Rock Installer and Carpentry, and went on to work on several construction sites in the Seattle area in the early 2000s. Gregory worked in the construction field until his health began to deteriorate in 2006 and he could no longer work. Gregory had a relationship with God, and was baptized at a young age at First A.M.E. Church in Seattle, WA, where he was an usher and active in the youth department.

Greg fought a long, 14-year battle which was the result of a traumatic brain injury he received around March 2006. There were many times he was near death, but he always pulled through. He fought the long, hard good fight until his death on June 17, 2021.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, LeQuincey (“Barr”) Cummins, his paternal grandparents James and Virginia Taylor, uncles James and Michael Taylor, and his father, Gregory Allen Taylor I.
