In Loving Memory of JOSEPHINE OLIVIA SIMONS

Josie was born to the union of Ernest J. Simons, Sr and Lennie M. Simons on November 8, 1952. She attended Bailey Gatzert, Washington Middle School, and Garfield High School.

She loved music especially R & B and Gospel, loved dancing, looking good, taking pictures, and her family. She didn’t have any kids of her own, but you wouldn’t know it because she always had her nieces and nephews with her lending a hand. Josie was always on our family trips with us enjoying life.

Josie was saved and brought up in the church. She was a faithful member of Antioch Baptist Church where she served as: Sunday School Teacher, Willing Worker, Usher Board member, and the Treasurer. She even joined the Senior Choir with her mother, Lennie Simons. In later years, she joined Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church.

Josie worked for the U.S. Government for over 30 years working with the HUD Department but spent most of her time with The Forrest Service Department. She retired in 2006, and was dedicated to taking care of her father Ernest Simons, Sr.

Josie leaves to mourn her passing 2 brothers: Larry Simons and Ernest Simons, Jr. , 3 Nieces: Nitica Simons, Searetha Simons, and LaNita Thomasson. 3 Nephews: Roy Busch Jr, Majacque Busch, and Norman Carroll. Great Nieces – Robynn Busch-Mallory, Ryann Busch, Ernisha Carroll, Tiana Carroll, Michelle Simons, Kiera Thomasson, Jada Wilson. Great Nephews – Jordan Carroll, Dominique Barnes, Ernest Coleman, Kesean Daniels, Robert Nelson III, Tay Proctor-Mills, Jr, Deandre Simons, and Karrie Williams. And a host of many other family members that love her dearly.
