Celebrating the Life of Mary Ann Hopson
May 30, 1956 – February 21, 2026
Mary Ann Hopson was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cherished friend to many.
Mary was a pillar in the community, serving with the Sweet Mahogany Drill Team for 25 years and with King County Metro Transit for 44 years. Her commitment, leadership, and love for her community left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Mary’s presence filled every room she entered. Her strength, confidence, and authenticity were matched only by her generous and kind heart. She lived unapologetically as herself and loved deeply.
Mary is survived by her loving husband, Jesse Hopson; her daughter, Denise Hopson; and her son, Jesse Hopson. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Kevin, Kaylyn, Jesiah, Jayla, Jada, and Jesse Jr.; her siblings, Dorothy Moody, William Turner, and James Turner; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family who will continue to carry her love and legacy forward.
A Celebration of Life for Mary Hopson will be held on Friday, March 13, at 12:00 PM, preceded by a viewing at 11:00 AM, at Church by the Side of the Road, 3455 S. 148th St., Tukwila, WA 98168.
