Francene Teresa Wilson passed away peacefully on June 22, 2020. Born November 15, 1958 in Seattle,Washington from the union of Sammie and Roberta Wilson, Francene was the 6th of 10 Wilson siblings, and was affectionately given the nickname “Cookie” by family at an early age. Francene graduated from Garfield High School and furthered her education at the University of Washington. Francene worked faithfully in retail, customer service, and administration for more than 25 years, and was known and easily recognizable by her charisma, laughter, and welcoming smile, until retiring from work at Seattle Central College. Francene was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, and friend, and was known to many as “Dancene”, a great friend, sweet, loving, fun, hilarious and an ultimate Seahawk fan. We will always remember her bodacious spirit and the laughter she delivered throughout Seattle with her iconic dancing and her whistles. She influenced family members, friends, colleagues, customers, and strangers young and old to get up and dance and to bring their best moves. She is a beautiful treasure and will be truly missed, and always will be dancing in our hearts.
Francene is survived by her loving husband Arthur Reddick, (Children) Linisha Smith, Jataun Mednikov, Curtis Smith and Jarvis Smith, (Grandchildren) Sophia Palmer, Katerina Mednikov, Jamiya Smith and Kaiyah Smith, (Siblings) Larry Wilson, Coletta Sipes, Joyce Jefferson, Sam Wilson, Patti Barlow, Pamela Wilson, Jerome Wilson, Nathaniel Wilson, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Francene is preceded in death by her parents and her brother James “Pete” Walter Wilson.
There will be a remembrance balloon release in honor of Francene held at Othello Park in Seattle, WA on Sunday July 5, 2020 at 3:00 pm.
Due to COVID, we are not organizing a memorial service at this time. We will have a celebration of her life surrounded by friends and loved ones when conditions allow.
