Essie Tyeskey was born on August 7, 1938, in Mississippi and later made Washington State her home, where she spent most of her life surrounded by family and community. She passed away peacefully on April 3, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion that will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
Essie dedicated 30 years of faithful service to the Department of Social Services. Through her work, she touched many lives with kindness and care, always willing to help others and offer support wherever it was needed most. Her commitment to helping people reflected the generous spirit that defined her life.

Above all, Essie was a devoted mother whose family meant everything to her. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters: Deborah, Sylvia, Sandra (who preceded her in death), Sirena, and Demoia. Her daughters were her pride and joy, and she guided them with wisdom, strength, and unconditional love.
She also shared a special bond with her granddaughter Magnolia, whom she lovingly raised from birth. Essie also leaves behind many other cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy.
Essie is also remembered by her longtime friend, Andrew Home, who shared companionship and care with her throughout the years.
Essie will be remembered for her thoughtful nature, her quiet strength, and her deep love for her family. She had a gentle spirit and a giving heart, always thinking of others and offering kindness in both big and small ways.
Her life was a blessing, her love a gift, and her memory will forever be treasured.
