Eddie Mae Tucker (Chandler) passed away peacefully on June 24, 2025, after a 5-year battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Beloved Mother, Grandmother and a friend to many, Eddie Mae’s friendships encompassed all aspects of life and each was special to her. Eddie Mae was born in 1944 in Oklahoma, but her formative years were spent in the Yesler Terrace in Seattle and then on Beacon Hill, where she raised her only son and served many years as a postal supervisor. In retirement, Eddie Mae spent her time in the church and at the Beacon Hill Retirement Center, where she became a nationally ranked bridge player. Her grandchildren were the absolute light of her life and she never missed an opportunity to provide memorable moments and spoil them to no end.
Eddie Mae is survived by her son Melvin V. Wells, her grandchildren D’Vaughn and Payton and her brothers and sisters; Vernell, Elaine, Dot, Clyde, Lawrence, Lori and many family members here in Seattle and across the country. Eddie Mae will be dearly missed and forever in all of our hearts.
Services will be held Wednesday July 23rd at The Church for All in Federal Way; 1925 South 341st Place, Federal Way, WA 98003
