Three S Line trains and two N Line trains will serve Oct. 11 Seahawks game day

Seahawks fans can save money and travel time by taking advantage of convenient special Sounder service to this Sunday’s 1:25 p.m. game against the San Francisco 49ers. The service is in addition to Link light rail, ST Express and King County Metro service to and from Lumen Field.

Sounder now offers three trains on the S Line from Lakewood and Sumner and two trains departing from Everett on Sunday afternoon gamedays.

Inbound Sounder trains from the south depart Lakewood at 9:51 and 10:26 a.m. and from Sumner at 10:43 a.m.

  • The first train leaving Lakewood is an express service that stops in South Tacoma, Tacoma and Puyallup before continuing directly to Seattle, where it arrives at King Street Station at 11:07 a.m.

  • The Sumner train departs at 10:43 a.m. with stops in Auburn, Kent and Tukwila before reaching Seattle at 11:27 a.m.

  • A train serving all S Line Sounder stations leaves Lakewood at 10:26 arriving at King Street Station at 11:42 a.m.

Return trains for the S Line make all stops and are scheduled to depart King Street Station 10, 20 and 45 minutes after the end of the game. The first two departures may leave earlier if they reach capacity.

Inbound trains from Snohomish County will depart Everett at 10:20 and 10:45 a.m. with stops in Mukilteo and Edmonds, arriving at King Street Station at 11:19 and 11:44 a.m.

Returns trains to Everett will leave Seattle 20 and 45 minutes after the game.

An online schedule of Sounder trains serving Seahawks games is available at soundtransit.org/seahawks.

Sounder game trains are not only for sports fans and can be used by anyone wishing to travel to Seattle on a weekend.

Riders can sign up to receive automatic e-mail service and/or text alerts for the T Line, Link light rail, Sounder and ST Express routes. Rider alerts can inform you about service interruptions, special event service, holiday schedules, and disruptions due to inclement weather. Sign up at soundtransit.org/alerts.

The Link 1 and 2 lines run every 10 minutes on weekends and serve stations from Lynnwood to Federal Way on the 1 Line and from Redmond to Lynnwood via Bellevue and Downtown Seattle on the 2 Line. Trains arrive every five minutes from International District/Chinatown to Lynnwood and back.

The International District/Chinatown and Stadium stations are close to Lumen Field. Postgame, passengers heading in the direction of Lynnwood will have more trains available at the International District/Chinatown Station.

Many ST Express and King County Metro buses also drop off passengers near the stadium. Link and ST Express bus schedules are available at soundtransit.org/schedule. King County Metro bus schedules can be found at kingcounty.gov/metro/schedules.

Another way to skip lines at ticket vending machines is by getting an ORCA card. Cards cost $3 for adults, plus whatever amount a rider chooses to load in the card’s E-purse or the cost of a pass that is good for unlimited transit trips. Riders can also tap to pay with their contactless credit or debit card.

ORCA LIFT fares are available for low-income adult passengers. Regional Reduced Fare permit holders are seniors age 65+ and riders with disabilities.

ORCA works on trains, buses, and ferries throughout the region. More information is available at myORCA.com.

A few additional reminders for a smoother trip:

·       On the S Line, the cars at the front of the train are usually a lot less crowded.

·       Riders using an ORCA card should remember to tap on and off at Sounder stations.

·       Parking is available at all Sounder stations, as well as many 1 Line and 2 Line stations.
