Benita Felton

Sunrise:  September 2, 1961

Sunset:  December 17, 2023

Benita Felton was born September 2, 1961, in Berkley, VA, to the union of Catherine Felton and Norman Leo Walton (deceased).  Benita was affectionately known as “Sweet” because it was an absolute expression of who she was.  On December 17, 2023, Sweet peacefully transitioned into the arms of her savior, under the medical care of Transitional Care Center of Seattle, in Seattle. WA.

Leaving their deep historical family roots in Berkley, VA, the family relocated to Seattle, WA in 1967, where she attended Seattle Public Schools and graduated from Garfield High School. #B4L

As a young girl, Sweet was quiet, pleasant, and always considerate of others.  Her purpose was fulfilled early, in teaching us how to love.  As an adult, Sweet was plagued with a lifelong struggle with mental illness, and though her journey was difficult and oftentimes tenuous, she was resilient in showing love, kindness, and service to others.

Sweet leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter, Cheryl N. Felton, two grandchildren, Isaac, and Alexus (Seattle, WA); her loving mother, Catherine Felton (New Braunfels, TX), and siblings, Veronica Felton (Chesapeake, VA), Lerone Felton (Georgia), and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and family friends.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate Sweet’s precious life on Saturday, April 13, 2024; 1 – 3 pm.  The location is LEMS Bookstore - 5023 Rainier Ave. S., Seattle, WA 98118
