Cleopatra Donley Stone was born on March 10, 1934 in West Columbia, Texas to the union of Jerry Donley Sr. and Lula Spencer Donley. She was one of ten children; Irene Donley, Emma Donley King, Clyde Donley, Jerry Donley Jr., Cora Lee Donley Rice, Clifford Donley, Mildred Gordon, Theodore Roosevelt Donley Sr., Mauia Donley.
Cleopatra attended Central High School in Galveston, Texas and attended Prairie View A&M University, in Prairie View, Texas where she received her B.S. in Physical & Health Education. Cleopatra was a proud member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
In the late 1950's, she moved to Seattle, Washington and was an educator for Bellevue Public Schools until she retired. In Seattle she met and married Attorney, Edwin Sterling Stone. She joined First AME Church where she was an active and devoted member for nearly 60 years. Cleopatra served on many auxiliaries and committees such as being a stewardess serving communion to the sick & shut in, organizing the Pisces segment of the annual Zodiac Tea and the Steward Board.
Cleopatra was known for her unique and impeccable sense of style, love for fashion and interior design. She delighted in spending time with her family and the adventures of international travel.
Cleopatra leaves to celebrate her life, her two children from her union with Attorney, Edwin Sterling Stone; Dr. Edwin Sterling Stone, II (wife, Trophine), and Caprina Stone, Grandchildren; Calida C. Stone, Nadia Washington, Toi Mitchell, Kenneth Stone-Lollie, Leiah C. Stone, Sheldon E. Stone, and great-granddaughters, Leilah N. Jones and Alaya Sterling Stone-Lollie as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
