In Loving Memory of Clifton Evans


Clifton Evans – dedicated husband, father of three, stepfather of two, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend of many – passed away on October 21, 2022, at the age of 81 in Seattle, Washington.

Clifton was born to Roger Evans and Sammie Lee Coleman in Houston, Texas, and moved to Seattle as a young child. He graduated from Garfield High School before joining the army. Upon returning from his European tour of duty, he enrolled in Seattle Community College. Clifton then became an electrician for many years and then found another calling working with Seattle Public Schools in Security, from which he retired. In addition, he was a classic car enthusiast, including refurbishing old cars and was an avid jazz music listener. He also loved working in the yard, where he would engage with his neighbors.

Clifton is preceded in death by his parents, Roger Evans and Sammie Lee Gladney, and brother, Roger “Tiny” Evans, Jr. Clifton is survived by his wife of 42 years, Paula Evans. His former wife, Pat Workenh, and their children, daughter Kelly Cook, sons Clifton II (Kai) and Jason (Hilary), stepdaughters Kimberly Randle (Kole) and Tanisha Randle Hughes, grandchildren, Krystal Thomas, Paris Wilson, Techelle Evans, Jalayah Cook, Jayda, Janae and Jason II “J.J.”; four great-grandchildren, Beautiful Lyndon, Honesty, Loyal and Isaiah, nephew Mark Evans and family and a host of friends, relatives, and colleagues.

The family will have a private service in his honor.
