In Loving Memory of Damon Mark Allen

Damon Mark Allen was born on June 28,1959, to the union of Ulysses Grant and Naomi Allen. Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Damon was the youngest of three siblings. This family of five settled in the Beacon Hill neighborhood. As a child, the Allen family attended Walker Chapel African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church in Seattle’s Central District. As Damon matured in the natural and in the spirit, his walk with God led him to the First AME Church where, for several years, he served in the men's choir and remained a faithful member of the church until his final resting days.

Damon attended Garfield High School, he was a true bull dog with the brightest purple and white spirit. After proudly graduating from Garfield High School in 1977. Damon was hired at Boeing Aerospace Company in February 1978. There he served and built lifelong relationships. Damon retired from Boeing as a Test Team Lead after a rewarding 45 years of employment.

In his early years, Damon developed a passion for music and community, leading him to later become a DJ at local events and gatherings. He was coined the name “The Doc” due to his infamous tagline “you ain’t rocked until you rocked with The Doc”. He had a true gift for capturing timeless music and blending different musicians from any era together effortlessly. A few of his classic favorites were Frankie Beverly, Luther Vandross, Janet Jackson, and many others.

Damon's kind and sensitive presence was not only known but felt. He left an impression on anyone who crossed paths with him. He loved, he laughed, he danced, he gave, he served, and he overcame. He is greatly missed, but his courageous spirit will forever live on through the abundance of family & friends.

On May 23, 2022, Damon was called home to join his parents, Ulysses Grant and Naomi Allen, ex-wife Rene’, and eldest sister Edree Algbro-Allen in the everlasting Kingdom of Heaven.

He leaves his children to carry his legacy: James Allen (Wannise), Devona Brewer (Robert), Jamar Hall (Jessica), Lawrence Allen, Denise Danielson (Kyle), Wesley Edwards, and older brother Grant Allen.
