In Loving Memory of Darryl R. Dorris

Darryl Raymond Dorris was born to the union of James R. (the “Reb”) and Mildred S. Dorris on June 2, 1959 in Joliet, Illinois – the first-born son of seven children. Darryl possessed all of the Dorris traits that those who knew him came to love; he was charismatic, comical, a gifted artist, a talented musician, minister, fashion forward and for a time he sported an impressive, world-class afro; most of all he loved God. Darryl’s radiant light dimmed on the morning of November 9, 2022, and Darryl left his earthly vessel to join the Reb and his beautiful brothers, Jeff and Ray in their heavenly home.

Darryl’s transition is preceded by Reverend James R. Dorris (Father), Jeffrey L. Dorris (Brother) and Ray M. Dorris (Brother). His legacy of love will endure through those who mourn his passing: his devoted partner, Ruth Washington; his sons, Darryl Jr., Sam (Nikkii) and Caleb; his longsuffering Mother, Mildred Dorris; loving siblings, Pamela, James (Shawn), Clifton and Gary (Laura); his beautiful grandchildren, Ramon, Raeshaun, Raiden and Khepra; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and those touched by his presence.

Celebration of Life Services will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022 at the RoseHill Missionary Baptist Church located at 7550 Martin Luther King Jr. Way South, Seattle, WA 98118; Viewing 10AM - Service 11AM. Please keep the family in your prayers.
