June 21, 1942 -July 22, 2021
On June 21, 1942, the sun rose and the world welcomed Davy Sanders. That day, the world became a little brighter. Davy was born to Henry Sanders and Lorene Sanders in Camden, Arkansas. In 1959, he graduated from Lincoln High School, and later migrated to Seattle, Washington, where he worked for The Boeing Company for several years. Subsequently, Davy joined the United States Marine Corp. and served for three years. He served in Vietnam and was stationed on Parris Island in South Carolina as well. After military service, he resumed his career at The Boeing Company, where he worked over 30 years, retiring in 1998.
He was preceded in death by his father Henry Sanders, mother, Lorene Sanders, sister ,Jeanette Watkins, and brother Henry Sanders Jr.
He leaves to mourn his loving fiancée, Sheila of Seattle, Washington, sister, Annette Sanders -Nash of Little Rock, Arkansas, his brother, Fred D. Sanders (Beverly) of Little Rock, Arkansas, his children, Patricia Ford of Sacramento, California; Alicia Mosley (Mark) of Richmond Hills, Georgia, and Damon Sanders of Kent, Washington, his grandchildren, Cedric Burton, Marcel Walker, Kianti Parker, Tatiana Sanders-Cooper, Nevaeh Sanders and 8 great-grandchildren, aunts, Ruth Banks, Bettye Scott, Vera Williams, Orene Scott and Mae Scott of Seattle Washington, uncles, George Scott Jr. (Clara) and James Scott of Seattle Washington, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Davy enjoyed playing dominoes, fishing with his uncles and friends, going to the casino, travelling to the ocean, playing cards, and spending quality time with family. Additionally, he was very charitable, giving financially to many community organizations.
Davy lived a full, warm life filled with family, love and many interests. He will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.
Graveside services will be held on August 11, 2021 at 3pm, at: Tahoma National Cemetery 18600 SE 240th St, Kent, WA 98042.
