Donnella Mitchell-Carter was born on January 16, 1962, to the union of Donell and Charlene Mitchell. She graduated from Rainier Beach High School in 1980. In 1990, she began a career at Boeing. She obtained her certification in Project Management from City College. She married Steven Carter on April 4, 2014, surrounded by family in a small ceremony in South Seattle. Donnella loved to laugh and fellowship with friends and family, and had a passion for food.

After a long battle with various health issues, Donnella was called to be with the Lord on October 24, 2025. She was preceded in death by Charlene Mitchell (mother) and Larry Mitchell (brother). She is survived by her husband Steven Carter, Donell Mitchell (father), Irma Nickles (sister), Dexter Mitchell (brother), Tisharaha Carter (step daughter), Camille Jasmine (step daughter), Antoine Carter (step son) and her niece and nephews, Kamariah Rockas-Mitchell, Aaron Nickles and Rashad Nickles (Charlotte Nickles) and an overwhelming wealth of extended family and friends.

Celebration of life will be held on November 21, 2025, at 11 AM, viewing at 10 AM, New Beginnings Christian Fellowship, 19300 108th Ave SE, Kent, WA 98031.
