On March 30, 2021, we lost an unforgettable mother and grandmother. Dorthea Beatrice Draper was born on April 12, 1938 in Portland, Oregon to Dorthea and Osceola Henry. She and her twin brother David were the first African-American twins born in Portland. Dorthea worked at Boeing for over 35 years. She enjoyed traveling and shopping with her husband, family, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Coolidge Draper, her beloved brothers William Gibbs, Donald Henry, David Henry, Theodore Peck, and Leard Henry. She leaves to mourn her son Morris Byrd and his wife Elizabeth Byrd, grandsons Malcolm Byrd, Julian Byrd, and wife Jenet, and their children Isaiah and Maya. Thank you to all who helped us during her illness. Service to be held on Friday, April 23 at Evergreen-Washelli. Viewing from 11:00 to 12:00, service to follow. Rest in Peace, Ms. Draper. You will be missed.
