Evans Robinson

May 9, 1942 – April 18, 2026

Evans Robinson of Katy, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Monroe, Louisiana, he moved at a young age to Seattle, Washington, where he was raised in the Central District. He attended Garfield High School and later enlisted in the United States Army in 1959, serving honorably, including in Germany.

After his military service, Evans built a life rooted in hard work and skill. As a master of construction and blueprint reading, his career took him around the world, including building roads and schools in Zambia and Tanzania. In Seattle, he founded Osiris Enterprises and contributed to major projects, including the Alaskan Way Viaduct.

In 2020, he moved to Katy, Texas, to be closer to his daughter and family. In his final year, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and found peace and comfort. His grandson, Lavelle Robinson, and granddaughter, Asha Robinson Malim, lovingly helped care for him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Simon Robinson Sr. and Erma Lee Robinson, and several siblings.

He is survived by his son, Tampa Mitchell; daughter, Sojourner King; sister, Sandra Robinson Nance; older brother; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; and Mary Mitchell, who remained an important part of his life.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Houston National Cemetery on May 8, 2026, at 11:30 AM.
