Freddie Martin
December 23, 1956 – November 26, 2025
Freddie Martin, a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and veteran, entered eternal rest at the age of 68. He was born in Monticello, Arkansas to Devaney Martin and Ebenezer James Sr.
Fred proudly served his country in the United States Army after enlisting on March 7 1974, and rising to the rank of Staff Sergeant. During his years of service, he endured ongoing racism, yet remained steadfast in his commitment to duty, honor, and his fellow soldiers.
Known for his humor, steady wisdom, and generosity that extended to giving his very last dollar, he touched the lives of everyone around him. His legacy continues through his beloved daughter Shelia, and his cherished grandchildren: Micah, Nyla, Kingston, and Zen, who will carry forward his stories, values, and example of strength.
A celebration of Fred’s life will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery on Friday, January 9 2026, at 2:00 p.m. promptly. Family and friends are invited to share in his memory and honor his remarkable life of service, love, and devotion.
