In Loving Memory of Joe Ingram Gillis


Joe Ingram Gillis

March 24, 1949 – April 3, 2024

 

Joe Ingram Gillis was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on March 24, 1949. He is the third child to the union of Ida and McKinley Gillis. Joe transitioned to his heavenly home on Wednesday, April 3, 2024. Joe pursued his undergraduate degree at Grambling State University in physical education. He met his future wife, Deloris Brooks in 1969 and the two married on December 25, 1971. The Gillis’ moved to Seattle, Washington and started a family. In 1981 Joe received a Masters of Counseling from Seattle University and worked as a Mental Health Counselor for the Department of Corrections until he retired in 2002. Joe obtained his Ministers License in 2001. His entrepreneurial spirit led him into many business ventures including videography, video editing, janitorial services and eventually opening Gillis & Associates; a private practice where he served as a well-respected Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). He was committed to preaching and teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Visitation will be from 4pm-7pm Friday, April 19, 2024 at Martin Luther King Memorial Baptist Church 4519 NE 10th St. Renton, Washington 98056.

 

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11am Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Martin Luther King Memorial Baptist Church.
