In Loving Memory of Lady Katherine Hardy

It is with a heavy, yet encouraged, heart that the Hardy family announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Katherine ‘Kathy’ (Boss) Hardy. This has been a profound loss for Earth, but Heaven has gained an incredible soul.

Kathy was divinely placed upon this Earth on August 29, 1950, in Houston, Texas and went to be with the Lord on her 73rd birthday, August 29, 2023, in Seattle, Washington. Kathy relocated to Seattle, Washington in 1970 where she met and married the love of her life, the late Pastor David E. Hardy Sr., while attending the Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church. The happy couple had four children from their union and led in ministry at the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church for 30 years. Kathy will be most remembered for being a powerful, humble, and unwavering woman of God, a loyal wife and devoted mother. She will be revered for her anointed singing voice, her ability to deliver flawless solos, effortless adlibs, and for providing impeccable hospitality. Kathy leaves to cherish her memory, a host of family members and friends here in the Pacific Northwest, Houston, Texas, and across the country.

A wake and public visitation will be from 6pm-8pm Fri. Sep. 22, 2023 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church 1445 S Main. St. Seattle, WA 98144. Visitation will continue from 10am until Celebration of Life services at 11am Sat. Sep. 23, 2023 at Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church 126 15th Ave. Seattle, WA. Wearing black with red, Kathy’s favorite colors, is optional as a thoughtful gesture in her memory. The interment will be at 12:30pm Mon. Sep. 25, 2023 at Tahoma National Cemetery 18600 SE 240th St. Kent, WA 98042.
