Lori Anne Emerson

Sunrise – August 31, 1960 ~ Sunset – April 5, 2026

Lori Anne Emerson made a peaceful transition from her earthly home to be with the Lord on Resurrection Sunday, April 5, 2026.

Lori was born in Seattle on August 31, 1960, to the union of Granville Emerson Sr. and Anna Emerson (Rivers)

 

Lori, accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and grew up in the church (Emerson Temple), where her father was the Pastor.

Lori served in the church as the drummer and a member of our church choir.

She loved the Lord and she loved her family.

 

Lori attended John Muir Elementary, ASA Mercer & Franklin High school, where she was a standout basketball player. She completed her senior year at Garfield High School in 1978, where she also played on the basketball team alongside the legendary Joyce Walker.

 

Lori worked 5 years for Boeing Aircraft as a draftsman before experiencing health challenges. 

 

Lori enjoyed attending her 3 grandchildren’s sporting events and celebrating their birthdays and holidays with them and attending family gatherings.

 

 

Proceeded in death by Father- Granville Emerson, Sr., Sisters- Miriam Emerson and Vanessa Emerson. 

 

Cherishing her memories: 2 Children- Marcel Emerson, Jimmy Hill; Mother Anna Rivers; Siblings- Gwendolyn Faye Parker (Robert), Linda,  Franklin, Lavita Alston-Emerson, Granville Emerson Jr. and Debbie Emerson-Carter (Pete); Grands- Ty Hill, Lejla Hill, Khing Ljutic; and Jazmina Ljutic. 

 

 

Lori’s Celebration of Life will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church on April 21, 2026, at 11am.  Live Stream: mountzion.net.
