Maurice Moses Wiggins was born on September 22, 1987, to Linda Renee Walker and Moses Wiggins III. As a child, he moved to New Orleans, LA, where he attended Barbara Jordan Elementary School. Maurice moved back to Washington and attended Meeker Middle School, Kent Ridge High, and Auburn High School. Maurice later went on to receive his GED. As a child, Maurice ran track and was a phenomenal boxer. He always reminded everyone how fast and great of a boxer he was. Maurice also loved to cook and play his music. Maurice had an affectionate laugh and smile to light up any room. Oh and don’t forget those bow legs everyone just loved. Maurice was a loving father. The day he found out he was becoming a father was one of the happiest days of his life. He made sure to tell everyone. Maurice is preceded in death by his mother, Linda Walker-Hendricks; Stepdad, George “Peanut” Hendricks; maternal grandfather, Leonard A. Stanton; and paternal grandparents, Geneva Thornton and Moses Wiggins. He leaves behind his one and only son Maurshawn, Dad Moses, and Sisters Pearl “Champayne“Hendricks, Cameo Hendricks, and Moenysha Wiggins. One brother, Moses Wiggins IV, and grandmother, Adrianna Walker. I also have a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces.
Services were held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Greater Gospel Temple.
