Obituary

Melinda was an angel on earth, and now she’s an Angel in Heaven.

Melinda is survived by her devoted husband, Kevin Spivey; 5 children, Kevin (J.R.) Spivey, Jr., Ashley Boatwright, Anjeanise (AJ) Fernandez, Jamersen Spivey and Alexis Spivey; parents, William J. Anderson and Pauline Devonish-Anderson; siblings, William (Willy) Anderson, Michele Anderson and Alicia Cole (Brian). In addition, she leaves to mourn near and far, her 8 grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and her Spivey in-laws.

Melinda was preceded in death by her beloved big brother Eric Anderson (2/28/22) and her uncle Sherman Perkins (3/18/17).

Special acknowledgements to her “little angel” and great-niece, Aleeyah McDaniel; aunt, Dorothy Devonish Smith; sister/cousins, Donna Perkins Hutchinson and Denise Perkins Barriere; & her attentive dog Ivy. Melinda’s family spreads primarily from Smyrna, TN; Seattle, WA; D.C.; Maryland; N.Y.; Florida; to Colón, Panama and beyond.
