In Loving Memory of Mrs. Carolyn Ann Hubbard


May 4, 1947, to December 11, 2021

Please join us for a Celebration of Life, as we pay tribute to our mother Carolyn Ann Hubbard, The daughter of Mr. Lamar Victor and Ms. Naomi Riggins. A wife to Roosevelt Hubbard Jr. whom they raised their 5 children, Abby, MeChelle, Randy(deceased), Eugene, and Ginny. As well their Godson Evan Nelson and a whole tribe of honorary kids they embraced as their own, (So many we can't name them all). Surrounded by her many siblings Barbara Lon(deceased), Peggy Colbert(deceased), Elizabeth White, Calvin White(deceased) Vivian Johnson(deceased), Billy Turner, Robert Murray, Wallace Murray, Thomas Murray(deceased), Marion Murray, Theresa Murray, Bill Murray, Chris Murray, Aaron Murray(deceased). A host of nieces, nephews, and her grandchildren plus two great-grandkids

Carolyn grew up in the Seattle Central District where she attended Horace Mann Elementary, Meany Middle School, and Garfield High School. She Lead a very active life working and raising her kids while being very involved with the community. She was a member at First AME Church where she served on the usher board. She also served under the Order of Eastern Star, The Queen of Sheeba Chapter. She was the Captain of her Neighborhood Watch and participated in various volunteer organizations. Her working career started at the age of 16 at the store her father owned and operated The Volume Food Basket. She volunteered as a Candy Striper at Providence Medical Hospital -Cherry Hill. She worked at Pacific Northwest Bell telephone company (known as "Ma Bell"). She worked at King Dome. She had a career with the Boeing Company from which she retired. In the past few years while battling her own health issues she made it a point to always check on people. She had a passion for getting to know people, learning about family history. She loved to cook for family and friends and attend a social gathering. She loved to share, she was a very giving person sending plates to anyone who wanted or needed it.

We welcome your presence to share a final farewell for our beloved mom.

The community loss a beautiful community friend when Carolyn Victor Hubbard passed. Her dad Victor, my dad Mr. Hollins and my Uncle Deacon Bill Hollins along with my grandmother the late Lillie Lanier and my cousins the Laniers ( Herman and Hank, all had Louisiana Family HIstory. My cousins Gene Williams and my deceased sister Nettie King Hollins and my brother John Earl Hollins grew up with Carolyn and her family before heading up North to live with our father. My mother also was best friends with the late Maude Victor Bowen and son Billy Turner, who we grew up knowing as a extended family member. Warm Memories of visits to Carolyn in her lovely home with our mutual friend…

As I mourn the loss of Ms. Carolyn and reminisce on her life, tears of sadness as well as tears of Joy flow. No longer will her verbal messages be shared with me thru- my Brother

(DeWitt A. III) and my Dad (DeWitt A. Jr.) for well wishes and invites to her home. Joyful as her life was well lived and now, there is a Peaceful resolve for her.


What a fashionista and a great cook, our community was Blessed beyond measure!


My sympathy and deepest condolences are for my friend MeChelle along with the rest of the Victor/Hubbard family.
