In Loving Memory of Nettie G. Neal White

Nettie Gertrude Neal White, daughter of the late William and Nettie Pearl Neal, was born November 10, 1936, in New York, NY and passed away on June 7, 2022, in Houston, TX.

Nettie spent her early years in Chester, PA with two brothers and two sisters. She was raised in a Christian environment. In Houston, she was a member of Lakewood Church under the leadership of Pastor Joel Osteen. She began her primary education in Chester and completed it in Tacoma, WA where she resided for 40 years prior to moving to Houston in 2008.

Nettie was an excellent seamstress, but children were her first love. Her love for children was evidenced by her proudly opening and running a Family Day Care Center for many years. When looking for photos to share in the Tribute to her memory the majority of photos found were of the children for whom she cared, many who continued to contact her long after they moved on from her care. Nettie had a great sense of humor and was a joy to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.

Nettie leaves to cherish her memory daughter, Charlene Jackson of Houston, TX; sons Charles Wright (Donna) of Tacoma, WA and Darren White (Chatauna) of Seattle, WA; brother Charles Neal of Rialto, CA; grandsons Dominique, Perris, Jourdan and Angelo; and great grandson, Jru. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Nettie was preceded in death by her parents William and Nettie Neal; brother William Neal, Jr.; sisters, Mary and Kathleen; and granddaughter Tamarra Jackson.

The family conveys their sincere gratitude for your prayers, words of encouragement and acts of kindness during this deeply difficult time. A special thanks to Ms. James who was a loving and dedicated caregiver.
