Rhonda Hawthorne
Sunrise June 22, 1959 - Sunset: April 20, 2025
Rhonda Hawthorne was born in Seattle, Washington, to Muriel Greene and Ronald Gene Black. She was raised in a loving home alongside her parents and siblings, where she developed her strong sense of family, and joyful spirit.
An athlete at heart, Rhonda had a deep love for sports—especially basketball—and proudly played for Franklin High School’s team. She was a devoted Seahawks fan and a passionate supporter of all thing’s sports. More importantly, Rhonda loved the Lord with all her heart and carried her faith with grace and strength throughout her life.
Professionally, Rhonda worked for many years as a housekeeper, but her true gift was in decorating. Known for her impeccable eye and creativity, she had a special talent for transforming any space into a warm and beautiful home. Her playful personality and great sense of humor made her the heart of every room—always ready with a joke and a bright smile.
Rhonda is lovingly survived by her sons, Jeelani Hawthorne and Taurean Hawthorne, and her daughters, Sharhonda Shoecraft, and Lovely Shoecraft. She is also survived by her uncle Gregory Perkins; her sister Shelley McClinton (James); her brothers Regnell Hawthorne (Claret) and Fredrick Hawthorne (Yvette); Maurice Estill and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
She was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother Zenobia Jefferson, parents, Muriel Greene, George Flowers and Ronald Gene Black, her brothers Howard Black and Michael Estill, and her sister Lori Hawthorne.
Rhonda’s warmth, laughter, and love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
