In Loving Memory of Robin “Brother” Caldwell.

Robin “Brother” Caldwell debuted into the world on January 13, 1956, to Jack and Helena Caldwell in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Robin was the youngest of four children and the only boy, whom his sisters lovingly called “Baby Brother.” As he got older, it became Brother. Brother grew up in Tulsa, attended John Burroughs and Dunbar Elementary Schools, Taft High School,and Troupe Beauty College where he received his Cosmetology license. As a pre-teen Brother started traveling to Seattle to visit his sister Bernadine and settled in Seattle in his early twenties.

Brother was a gifted singer. He started singing at a young age, he loved to sing and entertain people. As a young adult Brother had the opportunity to sing and travel with James Cleveland and Gospel Music Workshop of America. Brother was sought aftergospel choir teacher/trainer in both Tulsa and Seattle during his twenties and thirties. In 2013 Brother was one of the original recipients of the Pacific Northwest Gospel Music Legend Awards.

Brother enjoyed cooking and entertaining, in his mind he was a world renewed chef; indeed, he was a great cook. Brother showcased his skills throughout Seattle as a cook and/or bartender. Some of his places of employment were Seattle University, Nordstrom’s downtown restaurant, Thompson Point of View, and he retired from Rose Petals Restaurant.

Brother was a man of God who did not just love singing Gospel, he loved the Lord and reading his Bible and his David Jeremiah books daily. He joined Morning Star Baptist Church at a very young age and later attended Mt. Rose Baptist Church in Tulsa before moving to Seattle. Brother has attended and sung at many churches in the Seattle-Tacoma area and was a member of Church by the Side of the Road at the time of his passing.

Brother was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Helena Caldwell, his sisters Bernadine Saulsbury and Charlotte Goodman. On March 18, 2023, Brother went home to be with the Lord. Brother is survived by his loving sister Tauna Mayes and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who love him and will miss him dearly.

Visitation will be from 5pm-7pm Tuesday April 4, 2023 at Serenity’s Personal Alternative Chapel 749 Central Ave. N Kent, WA 98032 and continue from 9am until time of funeral service at 10am Wednesday April 5, 2023 at Freedom Church 7817 S 125th St. Seattle, WA 98178.
