Vickie was born to the late Girtherine Jackson and Sim Borders in East St Louis, Illinois and later relocated in the 70’s to Seattle, Washington with her large family.
She enjoyed a career driving for Metro until she was injured while on duty. From then on, she was devoted to selflessly helping others in any way she could. This included the daily operations of running the family business alongside her mother, the owner of Momma’s Kitchen, a staple in the Central District until its closing.
She was a proud mother of her only son, Morthaim Borders and also took great care of her nieces, nephews and her 3 grandchildren; Amira, Aniya and Aaliyah.
If you were a Central District native, it's unlikely that you did not know Pee-Wee, as she was playfully nicknamed. She had a charismatic spirit and a contagious smile.
Vickie passed away peacefully in Seattle, Washington and she will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, and her 3 brothers; Billy, Lamont and Odie.
She leaves to mourn sisters Rene’e, Patricia, and brothers Isaiah, Donnie, Frank, Arthur and an extensive host of extended family.
Her graveside service will be held 8/21/2020 at 11:00 am at:
