In Loving Memory of Wanda Ann (Melonson) Nelson


Wanda Ann (Melonson) Nelson, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2024. Wanda was the first child born to Robert James and Cecilia Melonson on September 18, 1949, in Houston, Texas, and later moved with her family to Seattle, Washington. She was the only girl among seven brothers and played a vital role in helping raise her younger siblings after her mother’s unexpected passing.

Wanda was a loving mother to three children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild and later became a stepmother through her marriage to Michael J Nelson. She was known for her fierce defense of her family and her determination to care for them despite health challenges. Wanda had a joyful personality, enjoyed dancing, cooking, bingo, and spending time with family and friends.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother, husband, stepsons, and two brothers. She is survived by her children, stepchildren, grandchildren, great-granddaughter, and remaining brothers, along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
