Gene Harold Green, a loving Father, passed away in his home in Kent, WA at the age of 83 Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025. He was born August 23rd, 1942 in Savannah, to Harold Green and Rosa Lee O’Neal. He lived many places around the world, settling in Spokane then later Seattle.
After graduating high school in 1963, he went on to serve in the U.S. Army from 1963 - 1966. He later study Oceanography - Filmmaking and Psychology at the UW, in Seattle from 1969 - 1972. He moved to carpentry and electrician trades, helping build the Seattle bus tunnel and Seattle Art Museum. He was also a light weight professional boxer.
As a natural born activist he fought for the freedom of the people. He created one of the first Black Student Unions in Spokane. He was also a member of the local Black Panther Party - both in Spokane and Seattle.
Gene Green walked through life fulfilled with purpose and determination. Always putting an emphasis on family and togetherness.
While raising is two youngest children(Breezy & Joseph) on his own, he still found time to serve his community, coaching youth & volunteering. He graduated from Bishop at A.L Hardy Academy and went on to Minister at several Seattle Churches.
He is preceded in death by his parents Harold Green and Rosa & Samuel O'Neal, brothers: Samuel O’Neal Jr. and Ray O’Neal, and his daughter Rosa T. Davis. He is survived by his children, Ronald Green, Willie Davis, TySonia Carr, Joseph Green, Breezy Green; along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He is lovingly remembered by all, forever in our hearts and will be truly missed.
Funeral will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025, at Rose of Sharon Pentecostal Church 4103 Rainier Ave S, Seattle, WA 98118 11am viewing 12pm service
