Brenda Charles, who the family and friends affectionately called, “Bonnie or Bonnie C”, a loving mother, beloved sister, caring cousin, and wonderful friend, peacefully transitioned into eternal rest Tuesday, March 30, 2021.
She was born in Seattle, Washington on February 20, 1948, to proud parents: The late Daniel Chapman and Vernice Chapman. Brenda attended Garfield High School. She attended Seattle Community College and received her degree in signing (ASL). She was a huge pillar in her community.
Before her peaceful transition, she attended the Southcenter church in Des Moines, Washington with Pastor Eddie General. One of Brenda’s passions was helping the homeless. She created and participated in a homeless ministry at her church and personally named it Tabitha’s Closet and she traveled on a mission trip to the Philippines in May 2014.
She was a member of the choir, Orion Chorale of Washington State. She traveled with the Orion Chorale of Washington State to San Antonio to sing for the SDA General Conference in May 2015. Before this, she sang with the Triple Treat and Entourage band that traveled all over Washington State to perform and put smiles on people’s faces. She was very talented and loved singing because she knew it touched people’s hearts.
She enjoyed dancing, modeling, being by the water, camping, and traveling to name a few things. She enjoyed spending time with her children, family, and friends. Brenda was a quiet person, and her personality would light up every room she entered. She was a natural beauty inside and out. She was a peaceful person, funny, loving, and thoughtful. She would always say, “In a minute” or “WELL”. She truly wished the best for everyone she knew and loved. She will always be our Queen.
She leaves an enduring legacy of love and great memories to be cherished
by her children, Yulonda and Cesario Chapman, her siblings William White and Roberta Chapman, and a host of loving relatives and her multitude of friends. She will truly be missed. I want to mention there will be a big community celebration for Brenda to come soon, stay posted.
From your children:
“You will always be known to us as the kind and classy woman you were. A star to us and we will always be your number one fan pretty lady. We love you so much and we miss you, baby. Rest easy, we will see each other again.” Yulonda and Cesario.
For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost, Luke 19:10.
