MORE THAN MUSIC
In these times of political turmoil, economic uncertainty, and funding attacks on the arts, the Jackson Street Jazz Walk exists to create a MUSIC-COMMUNITY-LEGACY event that honors Seattle Central District's African American music legacy and inspires the future of Seattle music.
The 12th Annual Jackson Street Jazz Walk shares the historical stories of the Central District with a new generation, combining with the Pratt Fine Arts Open House to feature an array of activities and live music from the 18th -30th blocks of S. Jackson.
You'll hear jazz, blues, soul, and Latin music from 20 bands on nine community stages, including street stages, restaurants, and panoramic rooftops. There will also be food trucks, a beer garden, Ethiopian cuisine, gourmet pizza restaurants, live art demonstrations, and children's art activities. You'll also have the opportunity to visit educational pop-ups that feature Central District African American musical icons.
As a Music for a Cause event under the leadership of Executive Producer, Eugenie Jones, the JSJW also serves the community through a give-back donation to a Central District nonprofit. This year, the recipient will be Byrd Barr Place.
We are more than music, but have no doubt the 12th Annual Jackson St Jazz Walk will be a wonderfully fun and exciting event, and this year's line-up of musical performances promises to be amazing! Get the full line up, locations, and more at
