Pastor Job Summary
The Pastor is a vital part of the church’s leadership team. The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day operations, develop, and implement long-term strategies for the church’s growth and success, and provide spiritual guidance to the congregation. The Pastor will also work closely with the church’s Deacon Chairman, Deacon Board, Trustee Staff, Administrative staff, and Auxiliary Leaders to ensure that the church’s mission and vision are fulfilled according to the Word of God and by the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Pastor Duties and Responsibilities
• Lead the effective and efficient management of operations of the church.
• Supervise staff and oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
• Oversee and work closely with the Financial Secretary and Trustee Board in church financial operations, including budgeting and fund-raising.
• Develop and implement long-term strategies for growth and success of the church.
• Provide spiritual guidance and support to the congregation.
• Develop and implement programs to engage and serve the church’s members and the community.(e.g. Outreach)
• Organize and lead worship services. Faithful in all aspects.
Pastoral Requirements and Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in theology, religious studies, Knowledge of God’s Word and apt to teach. • Ordained Gospel Minister with At least 5 years of experience in church leadership
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• The ability to work collaboratively with staff and volunteers.
• Great listener: ability to listen to new ideas; Faith to try new avenues of worship within the guidelines of the Word and inspire a congregation .
• Strong morals, humility, empathy, committed to serving. • Concerned for all members.
• Pastor with a vision from God • Pastor with integrity, fair and transparent in church business
