Participatory Budgeting returns for another round, seeks applicants to serve on steering committee

Following a historic first round of community driven funding, Participatory Budgeting is back. And the program is now looking for community members to serve on the steering committee that will drive the process. The steering committee will design the next participatory budgeting cycle (2023-2024) for the following unincorporated areas of King County:

  • East Federal Way

  • East Renton

  • Fairwood

  • Skyway

  • White Center/North Highline

Residents have until 5 p.m., Tuesday, March 7, 2023 to apply. Qualifications Steering committee membership is open to all members of the public who live, work, attend school, play, and/or worship in, or who can demonstrate any other strong connection (displacement) to the community they seek to represent. No experience is necessary—all adults 18 years or older are encouraged to apply. This is a paid volunteer position ($50/hour), estimating 4-8 hours/ per month with bi-weekly meetings held virtually on Wednesday evenings, until December 2024.
