at Tacoma Armory this Weekend
Tacoma Arts Live, in collaboration with neighborhood partners including EPIC's Brendan Nelson, presents RECLAMATION, a free community gathering to kick off the new life of the Tacoma Armory on Saturday, November 12 from 11 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The celebration signifies the intended transformation of the Tacoma Armory into an innovative community hub for arts and culture. RECLAMATION will honor the legacy of the Hilltop and embrace its future through a variety of interactive arts activities, live music, art reveals, dance, hands-on workshops, food from local eateries, community resources, a fashion show, and a vendor marketplace: featuring local artists, makers, and merchants.
Community leader Brendan Nelson shares, “I’m happy to see another space in the Hilltop being reclaimed for community use. I believe this event will inspire and uplift the powerful cultural roots.”
Tacoma Arts Live was recently gifted the 1908 structure with the intent to transform the space utilizing the vibrancy of the arts by the private Roberson Company.
