The weather may have cooled a bit, but Seattle's summer events are still hot! From watch parties and art walks to garden classes and historical talks, our Seattle Department of Neighborhoods’ (DON) list of upcoming community events has a little something for everyone.
With all the fun kicking up around the city, the streets will be just a little busier than usual. Plan ahead and give yourself extra time to make your trip easier. Check out this SDOT travel guide to help plan your outing.
Upcoming Community Events
July 3 – 19 | Hometeam Soccer + Sounds, Brick Park (Occidental Mall) Join us in Brick Park (Occidental Mall) for our Soccer + Sounds Series. Catch live music, performances, watch parties, and more, on the outdoor stage throughout the World Cup. Hosted by Seattle Arts & Culture
July 3 – 19 | The Beautiful Game: Celebrating Soccer in Seattle, citywide. Seattle Parks & Recreation is featuring special soccer-themed recreation programming with more than 100 soccer-related activations citywide.
July 3 | Central District Art Walk. A free, family-friendly neighborhood activation in Seattle’s Central District the first Friday of every month. Each event features visual art, workshops, poetry, live music, and activities and highlights local artists and small businesses. Supported by DON.
July 3 – 4 | FIFA World Cup Eritrean Arts and Music Celebration, Eritrean Community Center. A two-day, family-friendly, block party weaving together Eritrean food, music, art, and dance with the excitement of soccer. Hosted by the Eritrean Association in Greater Seattle and supported by DON and the Office of Arts & Culture.
July 4 | Under the Summer Sky: Sacred Songs & Stories of Inner Freedom, Magnuson Park Amphitheater. A free, cultural arts event featuring acoustic music, traditional storytelling, participatory singing, community connection, food, and wisdom from the Vedic bhakti yoga tradition of India.
July 5 | Mushroom Workshop for Adults, Picardo Farm & P-Patch. Join gardener Milton Tam to make your own oyster mushroom kit. Space is limited and registration is required.
July 7 | And Her Children Sang: Children of Shelly’s Leg Exhibitions & Performances, Pioneer Square. The Children of Shelly’s Leg is intentionally celebrating queer and trans lives through visual and performance art activations in Pioneer Square, Seattle’s historic gay neighborhood, during Pride and the FIFA World Cup for locals and international visitors. Supported by Seattle Arts & Culture
July 9 | Silent Reading Party for Kids, Green Lake Library Branch. Bring your own book, read for an hour, and chat (if you want) with fellow book lovers. This event is designed for kids ages 5-12.
July 11 – 12 | Lavender U-Pick Sale, Interbay P-Patch. Explore multiple lavender varieties to harvest your own bouquet and shop a selection of lavender goods and plant starts. All proceeds support the Interbay P-Patch.
July 14 | Historic Talks in Historic Buildings, The Stimson-Green Mansion. The series brings public programs into historic places across Seattle—places rich with history and meaning—while highlighting the voices and scholarship shaping our understanding of the past.
July 17 – 19 | Seafair Indian Days Powwow, Daybreak Star Indian Cultural Center. The Powwow showcases traditional Indian cooking, jewelry-making, music, and especially dancing. Throughout the day, tribes from the United States and Canada dance in full tribal regalia. All are welcome, Native and non-Native alike!
