Seattle, WA - Spruce St. Mini Park 160 21st Avenue, 98122, in Seattle’s Central District will close on January 17, 2023 for the construction of a play area and park accessibility improvements. The entire park will be closed to allow for the replacement of the aging loop trail in the lower lawn area of the park. The neighborhood is encouraged to use the Pratt Park play area, 201 20th Ave S, Seattle, WA 98144,during the park closure.
The renovation of the existing play area includes reconfiguration of the play area layout, new play equipment, ADA improvements, benches, seating options, and new pathways.
Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) would like to thank everyone who participated in the community outreach process. The design team incorporated input received into the new bright playful-color play features. Additionally, we would like to thank the Office of Arts and Culture and artists, Hasaan A. Kirkland and Damon Brown, who partnered with the SPR and the community to create the mural art in the park. This art project is complete and will be celebrated with the completion of the park renovation.
A-1 Construction and SPR will work to minimize the impact on the neighborhood during construction. We anticipate the project being complete by June of 2023.
