The current award was made to a team, (Truclusion), that lacks the required experience, isn’t led by descendant community members, and ignored qualified proposals from leading reparations scholars and teams. This isn’t a debate about whether reparations are needed - it’s about how this study is being done. A credible, transparent, and legally compliant process matters. We must ensure that Washington’s effort becomes a model of justice, not a missed opportunity.
