The Washington State Fair Event Center Celebrates 125 Years!
PUYALLUP, WA–
–Get ready for an exciting year as the Washington State Fair Event Center celebrates 125 years of creating extraordinary memories! Since 1900, we’ve welcomed guests to cultivate unforgettable experiences and lasting traditions. As the largest single event in the state, the Washington State Fair began as a neighborhood celebration of the harvest season, and is now 175-acres of year-round bustle. The Fair closed only twice in its 125 history, during World War II (when the U.S. government used the grounds as a Japanese incarceration camp) and in 2020 (when Washington State gatherings weren’t allowed during the COVID-19 pandemic). Throughout the past several decades, the venue has become a destination for non-stop activity including five self-produced events and more than 125 other events. We’re thrilled to blend elements of the past, present, and future this year, at our events and with major facility renovations. As part of bringing back the nostalgia, we're excited to incorporate the beloved "Do the Puyallup" into this year's celebrations, rekindling the iconic phrase and the memories it has created throughout the years. Washington State Fair, Aug. 29 – Sept. 21 (closed Tuesdays & Sept. 3):
The Washington State Fair is the single largest event in our state! With nearly a million guests, this bucket-list event features top-tier entertainment, thrilling rides, incredible food and a sense of belonging that brings everyone together. Oktoberfest Northwest, Oct 3-5: Oktoberfest Northwest! With Bavarian-themed food, drinks and games, this energetic three-day event is the perfect blend of tradition and fun. Whether you’re coming for the date night vibes or looking to out-smash your friends in Hammerschlagen,
Oktoberfest Northwest promises a party atmosphere for everyone!
Holiday Magic, Dec. 5-23 (select days): Step into a world of wonder at Washington’s Most Magical Holiday Experience—Holiday Magic! With twinkling lights, whimsical displays and festive surprises around every corner, this enchanting event is perfect for date nights and family outings alike. From ice skating to holiday markets, let the magic of the season fill your heart with joy and create memories that last long after the lights fade.

The Washington State Fair Event Center celebrates 125 years of creating extraordinary memories! Since 1900, we’ve welcomed guests to cultivate unforgettable experiences and lasting traditions. The Washington State Fair Event Center is the largest event center in the state. We produce five signature events annually, including the end of summer 20-day Washington State Fair, one of the largest in the country. The 8-day Spring Fair occurs each April as a celebration of the season. In addition to the fairs, the event center produces The Taste Northwest, a food and drink-filled extravaganza in June, Oktoberfest Northwest, the state’s largest Munich-style celebration in October and Holiday Magic, a festive winter experience in December.
