A LIVING HONOR to Mother Girtha Edwards-Foster

Mother Girtha M. Edwards-Foster

Servant of Christ • Woman of Faith • Leader • Prayer Warrior

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." — 2 Timothy 4:7

Every life leaves a legacy. Mother Girtha M. Edwards-Foster's legacy is one of unwavering faith, sacrificial service, steadfast prayer, and unconditional love for God's people.

Her spiritual journey began with the godly example of her mother, Missionary Lucille Altheimer, who faithfully taught her to trust in the Lord, love her neighbors, share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and understand that prayer is the foundation of every victory. Those precious lessons became the cornerstone of a lifetime devoted to serving God.

In 1958, alongside her beloved husband, Pastor Robert Edwards Sr., Mother Edwards-Foster answered God's call to ministry. Together, with the help of their children, they built a church in Washington State—not simply with bricks and mortar, but with faith, sacrifice, vision, and countless prayers. More than six decades later, that church continues to stand as a beacon of hope, worship, and transformation, bearing witness in 2026 to the faithfulness of God across generations.

Throughout her ministry, Mother Edwards-Foster has poured her life into strengthening families, encouraging women, mentoring young believers, comforting the brokenhearted, and reminding countless souls that God's grace is always sufficient. Her life demonstrates that true greatness is found not in titles, but in humble service to Christ.

In recognition of her lifelong dedication to the Gospel, she was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from the Universal Life Church on July 7, 2022. This honor reflects decades of faithful ministry and spiritual leadership that have impacted lives both inside and outside the church.

On December 18, 2025, Mother Edwards-Foster received a Recognition Award from Mayor Victoria Woodards of Tacoma, honoring her extraordinary commitment to serving the community, strengthening families, and faithfully leading with compassion, integrity, and love.

Today, she faithfully serves as the Jurisdictional Supervisor of the Women's Department in Ammon, Idaho. With wisdom, humility, and a servant's heart, she continues to inspire women to grow deeper in their relationship with Christ, embrace their God-given calling, and walk boldly in faith.

Mother Girtha M. Edwards-Foster believes that a life surrendered to God can change generations. Her testimony is a living reminder that every prayer offered in faith, every act of kindness, every sacrifice made for the Kingdom, and every soul led to Christ has eternal value.

Her greatest achievement has never been the awards she has received or the positions she has held, but hearing the voice of God and faithfully answering His call.

May her life continue to inspire future generations to trust God completely, serve others wholeheartedly, love unconditionally, and leave behind a legacy that points the world to Jesus Christ.
