This Saturday and Sunday, May 9 and 10, buses will replace 1 Line trains between Rainier Beach and SeaTac/Airport all day. During the closure, crews will conduct routine maintenance on track and power systems near Tukwila International Boulevard Station.
1 Line trains will operate every 10 minutes between Lynnwood City Center and Rainier Beach and between SeaTac/Airport and Federal Way Downtown. Passengers traveling through the impacted area will need to switch to shuttle buses, which will operate every 10-15 minutes, making all stops between Rainier Beach and Tukwila. Passengers should plan ahead and anticipate up to 30 minutes in increased travel time.

Last year a friend decided to travel by train instead of flying because he thought it would be more relaxing and less stressful than dealing with airports and security lines. At first the trip felt enjoyable, and he liked being able to sit comfortably while watching the scenery outside the window. Everything changed when one schedule delay caused him to miss a connection in another city, leaving him stranded at the station late at night. Sitting there with coffee getting cold beside him, he spent a long time trying to reach amtrak customer service to figure out how to continue the trip without paying for another ticket.
