CD Connected: A Community Conversation on AI & Digital Equity at the McKinney Center

Hi everyone,

I’d love for you to join me on Saturday, October 17, for CD Connected: A Community Conversation on AI & Digital Equity at the McKinney Center in Seattle’s Central District.

Through my work with The Data Guys™ and our community partners, I see how closely access to technology is connected to opportunity. Having reliable internet, knowing how to navigate digital services, and understanding emerging tools can shape someone’s ability to find work, grow a business, access resources, or support their family. As artificial intelligence becomes part of everyday life, we need our communities helping shape the conversation.

Who has access? Who benefits? And what do we need to do together to ensure people aren’t left behind?

I’ll be co-facilitating this conversation with Shaudé Moore, CEO of the Central District Community Preservation and Development Authority (CDCPDA). We’ll explore:

  • Digital access: The barriers people face in accessing reliable internet, devices, and support.

  • AI and everyday life: How emerging technology is changing the way we work, learn, and do business.

  • Education and economic opportunity: The skills and resources our communities need to participate and thrive.

  • Responsible AI use: Questions about trust, fairness, and how these tools affect our communities.

  • Community priorities: Your experiences, concerns, and ideas for a more equitable digital future in the Central District and beyond.

You don’t need a technical background to participate. Bring your questions, your curiosity, and the perspective you’ve gained through your work and lived experience. Whether you’re a resident, small business owner, nonprofit leader, educator, or community advocate, your voice belongs in this conversation.
